Hi!
I used to keep guppies but for a while stopped and am now receiving a pregnant female guppy from my friend. I have done a lot of research (Since I want several batches of fry and am only receiving one female, and maybe a male.) So during my research I found that female guppies can hold from 5-6 sperm packets. Therefore you could technically get 6 batches of fry from a single female after she has bred with one male once. Of course this can cause problems if you want different males bred with her since you can never be sure of the TRUE father of the fry. But basically as long as the conditions are right, if she's pregnant there's a good chance of geting several batches without a problem. My friend knows this also from experience and told me this as well and I know from my own experiences that this is true.

Hope this helps!!

I just started. I find guppies easy to take care but your blog certainly gives so much information about guppies.

Thanks.

i feed my guppies with dry bloodworm. Bloodworm has all necessary nutrition a guppy require.
For guppy fry you can take pinch of dry blood worm, crush them and feed. You will see your guppies are growing and are healthy as well.

Hi There ...
I wonder if you could help me ... I am breeding guppy's and I just want to know if one can feed one's guppy's a cube of bloodworms every day? The females, males and the fry are crazy about it ... I also feed them frozen food alternative with spirulina in a powder form and Tetra Pro Colour flakes. Is this three food combination a good enough sourse of food aswell as all the nutrition and vitamins they need to produse good offspring in huge numbers and keep them healthy and happy at the same time? I do a 70% waterchange three times a week. How long must I put a female and male togather for plenty of fry? If you can recoment anything els to help me or correct me on what I can perhaps be doing wrong, please do so.

Looking forward to hear from you ...

Thank you very much

Kind Regards

Jaco (reply via email: eugene22@vox.co.za)
